Self Image Workshop

What we see in the mirror is our Reflection, not our Identity.

How do you define yourself? Are you happy with that definition or would you like to change it?

Before you answer with ‘I can try change’, let me share a story with you. Two friends were having a conversation near a bench, and I overheard them. One asked his friend, ‘Are you up for the task ahead,?” She replied by saying ‘I’ll try”. I couldn’t help grin and turned to focus on the conversation, as I knew what would happen next. He said, “Do you see that bench behind you? Try sitting on it.” She began to sit, and immediately understood what he was saying.

Doing away with the words, ‘I’ll try” or ‘I don’t know” are easier than it appears. ‘Change’ is a word that can be reversed. When we tell ourselves we’re going to change the way we feel about ourselves, it is reversible. Let’s replace it with ‘Evolve’ we are telling ourselves, that there is only one way we are ready to move in, and that is Forwards.

How is this connected with Self Image? The first step towards evolving, and in this specific case, transforming the way we feel about our own Self Image – is how we talk to ourselves.

“The body hears everything the mind thinks.”

Are you up to the challenge?

About Facilitator:

Radhika Ghose
Gratitude Listening Circle Facilitator & Storyteller

When asked ‘what she wanted to be’, Radhika knew there was a bigger question which she wanted to focus on and that was ‘to serve’. On that quest, she chose to work with the youngest age group and tuned herself to early years education and the Montessori system. At the heart of which is the belief that ‘children learn through doing vs repeating’. Through that journey, another facet opened for her, storytelling.

Focusing on the youngest listeners – Kahaani Walli’s module gave Radhika the chance to engage children through areas she was passionate about – stories, music, and movement. Growing within the walls of the classroom, Radhika constantly sought different ways of cultivating a thirst for knowledge in children; and it led her to realize that she wanted to grow beyond it.

An opportunity presented itself and from it emerged a gateway, that would change everything she knew about herself and her life up till that point. That gateway offered multiple paths, and the one she chose led her to the Gratitude Listening Circle. It was that space which truly invited her into its fold, and planted the desire for more into her subconsciousness.

Among the many learnings from her initial sessions was the area of Facilitation which awoke the suppressed dream of serving. In facilitation lay the answer to enabling people, empowering them to find the answers that already existed but just needed to be realized. Her focus now is to share Gratitude Listening Circle with as many people as she can. This is her way of serving the larger community around her. In addition to it, she will continue to reach out to schools and young children through her avatar as Kahaani Wali; other areas that are applicable to children & adults alike.
