Jazz writing has long been the purview of pundits, and for years they have been the ones to explain jazz to listeners. While this tacit division of labor between pundits and players have been mostly been a good thing, things are clearer and more fun when jazz musicians speak for themselves.

Ramjee Chandran and Aman Mahajan will talk to the audience about jazz in a free-flowing and mostly unrehearsed set.

They will perform and explain a series of jazz standards that enable listeners to “hear” the heart and history of the music, and understand a little about the structure and history of this incredible art form.
