An introduction to Slam and Performance Poetry. This interactive workshop will help you break down the phenomena and build up your contribution to it. Slam Poetry has become more of a platform for so many artists to talk about their deepest fears and happiest memories. With this strong belief in mind, Shibani Das is joining us at LOKUS to share her knowledge around Slam Poetry!

ABOUT WORKSHOP:

This will be a 2-hour session structured in 4 parts -
1. What is Slam Poetry and Performance Poetry.
2. What should one write about.
3. How to write.
4. How to perform.

The program will consist of both lecture and practice sessions. We have already organized it in the past and have received great reviews.

About Facilitator:

The lecture will be taken by Slam poetry writing and performing expert, Shibani Das.

She is a Poet, Performer, and Curator based out of New Delhi. She found herself in the middle of the Slam poetry circuit in 2015 and hasn't looked back ever since. In the short span of 5 years, she has performed in over 60 events, held multiple workshops and curated her own events in collaboration with Contemporary Arts Week India ( 2017).
