“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Now when we combine the attitude of Gratitude with the act of listening itself, it becomes magical. Let me share a story of two best friends who met after 25 years. They were together in the school and they used to share stories with each other.

Due to a lot many reasons like we all go through they couldn’t continue to meet each other but always used to think about each other. One fine evening they both met each other in the middle of the city and look at each other with awe and hugged each other. One had become the CEO of a very famous company, other had become a monk. The monk asked him what is happening in your life. Business man says that I am doing this, I am doing that, and I am doing a lot many things. Monk in sheer shock just listens to him and holds space for the friend to speak. After about 20 minutes he stops. He asks, how are you? What are you doing these days? Monk says I’m practicing to ‘Be’. I am practicing listening to all. Friend did not understand this act of listening.

In Bewilderment friend asks Monk, ‘but why do you do this, and what do you get out of it?’ Monk answered: ‘It is just an act of listening and each time that I’m listening I’m learning newer things.’ In addition to it I feel better each time I get to listen to stories.

Listening in itself is very important. These days’ people just hear you out, they are busy thinking about where they have to be after this meeting, what are they going to eat for supper, what should I wear for Saturday’s party and so on.

This is going to a listening circle with an intention of gratitude. We invite you all to be a part of it, share stories and listen to stories. Welcome Home.
