Origami is the art of paper folding, which is a part of Japanese culture, formed by the Japanese words 'Ori' meaning "to fold" and 'Kami' meaning "paper". Traditionally it was believed that if one folded 1000 origami cranes, one's wish would come true.

An interesting thing about Origami is that it helps develop hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills and mental concentration. At the same time, it is almost meditative, as you can get so engrossed in it that it's already a few hours later and you didn't even realize it!
Origami is also used in various therapeutic settings, including art therapy and injury rehabilitation.
