Death from time immemorial holds much attention - whether in terms of an inevitable truth - or as a recent occurring around oneself. This workshop is to experience and imagine the possibility of Death, not as you know it today which is shrouded in the rituals of your culture - but as it existed more than 10,000 years ago where there was no organised religion, electricity or societal structures as we know them today.

Who would you remember? How would you have been buried? How would you honour your life? Who would be by your side?

Into this setting, Bedlam and Shaleen Wadhwana invite you to experience a bit of the Neolithic era.

Shaleen will wind the clock back. Themed music will greet you as you enter. There will be a reconstructed 10,000 year old burial of a skeleton, with era appropriate grave goods, for you to observe and absorb, as it is demystified and introduced to you by Shaleen. She will take on you on an informative journey across time, from your present to this collective human past, to honor and recognise this aspect of human history.

You are requested to come with your grave goods- ranging from a person, prized possessions absolutely anything that you wish to be buried with.

->An introduction to 'Why we die/ How have we died in the past/ How we will die in the future, through an interactive presentation
->Creating your very own Mesolithic painting with Ingredients used in the era.
->An interactive session answering all questions pertaining to death, existentialism and beyond

You will also step into the present and the future. Environment, sustainability and technology - where do these cross roads meet in your generation? And what does it mean for you to die now, and in the coming future- the session will unpack these answers, and review the take-away from this workshop.

About the facilitator:
Shaleen Wadhwana, academically trained in History(LSR, Delhi), Art History(SOAS, London) and Liberal Arts(YIF, Ashoka), is an art-polymath who teaches, mentors, writes about art to
bring audiences closer to it. Shaleen travels across campuses to consult for developing careers in the visual arts industry. She is currently a visiting faculty at MITID Institute of Design in Pune, where she links the worlds of art, design and history, as she teaches Big History and Design Futures to the Design Management Masters students. Apart from working in several arts and heritage institutions like the British Museum, Heritage Transport Museum, La Sabranenque Conservation site, she has also served as the Director of Sales and Strategy at Chemould Prescott Road Contemporary Art Gallery, in Mumbai.
