From candid snapshots to sleek ad campaigns and everywhere in between, mobile phone photography has advanced rapidly in a few short years as you get the instant gratification which helps in conveying faster messages.

For an amateur, the smartphone has already replaced point-and-shoot cameras not just out of convenience, but also because phones now match the quality level of these cameras. With smartphones taking over what other devices can do, photography is becoming more centered around the phone, making it convenient for photographers.

About the Mentor

Atul Hundoo is a renowned photographer and photojournalist who has been in the industry for the last 18 years, his works have been published in several newspapers and magazines of repute. He has been one of the pioneers to recognize smartphone as a medium of creative photography in India. His smartphone photography works have been featured and interviewed in renowned photography magazines. He regularly writes columns on smartphone photography and camera technology.  

A graduate in Applied Arts (BFA), he specialized with a distinction in Fine Art Photography & Photojournalism during his Masters from the College of Arts, Lucknow.

An artist with a great vision finds photography as the best medium of expression. Currently, he heads the visual division of Coffee table books at the Dainik Jagran media group and mentors the staff photojournalists of Dainik Jagran INext.

As a photography mentor, he has conducted more than 30 workshops. Since the last few years, he has been great working to establish a smartphone as a medium of mainstream photography and has conducted exclusive mobile photography workshops and mobile photo walks in different cities.

He is a visiting faculty and examiner for reputed colleges like NIFT, College of Arts, Lucknow University, etc.
