At many transitions of life, for example changing schools, leaving home, starting university or a new job and changes in social status (marriage, parenthood). For many, these are exciting times. They can also be times of stress and apprehension, however. In some cases, if not recognized and managed, these feelings can lead to stress.
Fortunately, there is a growing recognition of the importance of helping people build up coping mechanisms, from its earliest stage. Evidence is growing that promoting and protecting health brings benefits not just to health, both in the short- and the long-term, but also to economies and society, with healthy being able to make greater contributions to self and others around them.
Prevention begins when we generate awareness and have empathy towards the happenings of surroundings as well. We at Lahe Lahe decided to Screen cinema from the world to bring in some awareness about various aspects of Mental Health. The screening of the film will be followed by a discussion on the subject led by a Developmental Therapist
on 19th July, we screen the Italian movie "Briciole" where 18-year-old Sandra develops anorexia, and her family struggles to figure out how to support her.

Facilitator: Shraddha Modi, a developmental therapist whose passion for mental health has motivated her to study and work in this field.
