A technique much like paint on paper, where we use, soft cotton fabrics as base and plant extracted herbal dyes as a colour medium. All raw materials will be provided along with instruction sheets for motifs to paint.
Herbal dyes are colours extracted from nature. From plants, insect secretions, plant roots, flowers etc.
These are not only good for the environment, considering the number of chemicals the clothing industry uses, but also good for the wearer's skin.
The fabric painting technique is much like paint on paper, where we use soft cotton fabrics as base and plant extracted herbal dyes as the colour medium.
In the workshop we will be exploring two colour extracts :
Madder Red and Woad Blue (will be further discussed in the workshop)
All raw materials will be provided along with instruction sheets for motifs to paint.All you need to bring is your enthusiasm :)
