The workshop is an attempt to give a 360-degree view of Origami as a tool to create sculptures, to articulate surface, as a structural system, and to create lighting, packaging, and products. Origami is abstract mathematics. It can be molded to any discipline. The workshop offers a chance to experience this diversity and flexibility of the origami universe. It is not just a craft for children, but a real design tool for the initiated.

Participation: Prior folding experience is not a pre-requisite. Workshop open to anyone aged 13 years and above.

About the Artist:
Ankon Mitra is an architect, landscape designer and pioneer of Origami in India. Through the initiative - Oritecture, his Studio has taken the art and craft of Origami to materials well beyond paper. Architecture encompasses art as well as diverse products and solutions such as lighting, tableware, planters, furniture, wall and ceiling coverings, rugs, sculptures, toys, as also accessories and jewelry.
