Shakuntalam is an interactive physical comedy trying to merge clown and mime techniques with one of Indias oldest play. This show comes all the way from Mumbai.

Clown Mindy portrays Shakuntala, defying the stereotypes attached to it, making her own decisions about her life unlike how its
written in the original play. Clown Kamla and Clown Tinu try their best to fit into the roles of sage Kanav,  Dushyant, Priyamvada, Indra,
Messengers and Bharat.  
Their Hindi script doesnt get the censor clearance and now the clowns are pushed to perform the whole play with the original
Sanskrit script. Will the goof-ups with the ring, Shakuntalas pregnancy, Dyushants memory loss and language barriers add
confusion to the clowns already chaotic lives or will it give the audience a different perspective on these architype characters? 

It is the perfect family entertainer. The play has completed more than 100 shows in a year touring extensively in Maharashtra, as well as in Delhi,
Lucknow, Jaipur and Ranthambore. The play was invited to participate in various theatre festivals such as JAIRANGAM, SUNDAY TO SUNDAY,
SHADIPUR, LFI. The play is scheduled to perform in many festivals in 2020. Shakuntalam has got selected for JUNOON Arts at Play to tour in India.
Play is in Hindi and the duration is 70 minutes. The play is based on Kalidass classic Abhigyan Shakuntala.
