In 2004, Ravi was selected in the show, Indian Idol, in its first season. Ravi Shukla was crowned the winner of Amul Star Voice of India 2 Winner on December 21, 2008, the runner-up was Saptaparna Chakraborty. He was awarded a new car with a cheque for Rs 2.5 million. In addition, he was given a contract with T-Series to launch his first album.
