And one LONG weekend! That’s Hampi for you, folks!

Hampi for us is our second home, there is a different connection altogether with this place of rocks and greens. Be in the present moment, with no network for the majority of the time you are left with the best thing one can get ie NEW TRAVEL STORIES from all around the world with all kinds of people.

Hampi is an ancient village located on the banks of River Tungabhadra in Karnataka. It is recognised by UNESCO as one of the World Heritage Sites in India.Standing within the ruins of the Vijayanagara Empire, it was renowned because of its immense wealth, flourishing art, literature and trade in ancient times. Now, the ruins of Hampi are captivating and unreal and are sure to leave you breathless, with stacks of giant boulders resting carelessly, blue skies with popcorn clouds and green paddy fields.

Itinerary:

29th Sep– Journey commences!

Leave from Mumbai by bus in the evening around 5.30 pm.

30th Sep – Exploring the Hip side!

Reach Hospet this morning.

Take a local transport to Hampi and a ferry ride across the river that divides Hampi in 2 parts (the cultural side and the hip side). Check-in in the guest house and freshen up for the exciting day ahead.

Spend the day exploring the hip side of Hampi on mopeds. In the evening, go swimming and cliff jumping in a lake. Enjoy a sunset atop a hill with guitars, drums and live music! Return to the guest house for dinner.

2 – Waterfalls and exploring the cultural side!

Have early breakfast leave to be amazed by the architectural heritage around the Royal Centre and the colorful Bazaar on the cultural side of Hampi. Have lunch in Mango Tree! Hike up to a waterfall in the evening and soak in as much of this beautiful abode. Catch the ferry back to our hip side.

1st Oct – The lake, coracle and farewell!

You can never have enough of the lake in Hampi. Visit it again, one last time. Take a coracle ride this time and take the ferry back. Take transportation to Hospet and then a bus back to Mumbai.

2nd Oct – Back to Mumbai
