Bhrigu Lake
Offering tremendous natural beauty and stunning vistas of snow-capped mountains, verdant forests and lush meadows, the Bhrigu Lake trek in Himachal Pradesh is one of the most favourite treks amongst trekkers and nature enthusiasts. One of the high-altitude lakes in India, sitting in the lap of Garhwal Himalayas in the Kullu region, Lake Bhrigu is associated with the Sage Bhrig who is believed to have meditated on the banks of this serene lake many thousands of years back. Not a very challenging trek, the Bhrigu Lake trek can be ventured on to by even the beginners provided their physical fitness and stamina is up to the mark. Mesmerizing views of the 'Deo Tibba', 'Hanuman Tibba' and 'Seven Sister' peaks in the Pir-Panjal ranges, virgin forests of cedar and silver oak, vast expanses of green pasture lands, multi-hued carpets of alpine flowers and shimmering water streams along the trails make your trekking experience even more fun and overwhelming. An occasional rendezvous with some of the wildlife species including the Snow Cocks, Pheasants and Himalayan Monal adds to the charm of this beautiful journey
Schedule
- Chandigarh arrive, wash and change overnight drive to Manali
- Reach Manali (base camp), river crossing and rappelling.
- Manali – kothi
Today we start our trek from our base camp to reach Kothi camp. It small acclimatization walk.
- Kothi to moridugah
We depart from the beautiful valley, behind we get picturesque views of Manali and the forest all around. We proceed to Moji Dugh, on an ongoing trail, through the forests of Deodar, Oak and Pine. Our first camping site is in an open space in this amazing forest.
- Moridugah to nodathatch
Today, we will commence our trek after breakfast. The trail ascends progressively and will take you on the top of the tree line. See spectacular views of the striking Manali valley and astonishing peaks like Shikharbeh, Hanuman Tibba, and Makarbeh among others. We will camp in the towering altitude meadow of Theli. Covered with all over with snow ahead of schedule in the season it is like a widespread blanket of blossoming wild flowers as the spring arrives.
- Nodathacth to maidana
Today We start with a short walk. We gradually Gain height to reach the maidana camp. Maidana means an open ground like a plateau in the mountain
- Maidan to bhrigu lake and back to Maidana
The trail ascends gradually before a minuscule, steep climb to the lake. Walk on to the expansive Bhrigu ridge and get amazing panoramic perspective of the Kalihani Pass, Makarbeh, Hanuman Peak, Shakarbeh, and the Manali pass to the West, the Friendship, the Rohtang ridge to the north, Shitidhar Massif to the North - West and Hampta to the East.
- Maidana to Behi
After an Exhausting day to reach bhrigu lake we camp in the jungle. With a stunning view of the manali town below
- Behi to vashishat and drive to base camp
The last day of the trail is a steep descent through the deodar, chestnut and pine forests into the village of Vashisht. It is known for the hot water springs; it is the perfect final destination to end the trek with relaxing bath for long. By the evening, we head back to Manali where the trek ends.
10 Day free and evening drop to bus stand and night journey to chandigarh.
11 Hotel for wash and change and drop at railway station or airport.
Fees:- 16500/-
The above fees include the entire transportation and common accommodation from Chandigarh to Chandigarh and vegetarian meals along the trek route from the Base Camp to Base Camp. The fees however do not include the meals during transit from Chandigarh to Base Camp and back, any kind of shopping, mineral water, optional sightseeing, and any other expenses of personal nature.
