Silk Painting - A Beginner workshop on Textile craft in Bangalore
Learn silk painting in a 4-hour workshop on Sunday, June 10th. This workshop is for those who want to start learning this beautiful textile craft. By the end of the workshop, participants will learn to paint on silk, satin, and polyester fabrics.
The Gutta / Water-based resist is a silk painting technique where the designs are outlined with a resist which is applied to white or light color fabric that are pre-washed, dried and stretched. Once gutta dries the fabric is painted. After the painting dries the gutta is washed and removed. The Silk colours are transparent and may be used only on light colored fabric.
All materials required for the workshop will be provided.

White Polyester 12/12
Gutta
Silk colours
Embroidery ring
Brushes
Designs
Yellow carbon paper
Pencil
All fabrics provided will be in white and sized ready to use.

About the Artist
Mrs. Rani Peter, founder of Christline Home Crafts has been an artist for over 22 years and has a versatile hand for painting on Canvas, Fabric, Glass and other mediums. She also teaches crafts like various types of murals, sculptures, box making and more.
