Art and a cause come together with JagaChitra

JagaChitra is an annual photography exhibition, conducted by TGiS, at Rangoli Metro Art Center, Bengaluru. All proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI).

TGiS, or Thank God it’s Saturday, is a city-based photography group, mostly students of internationally acclaimed photographer - Anand Sharan. The group is hosting its 6th exhibition this year. 

In keeping with the theme, photographs were taken by TGiS members from around the world, showcasing scenic locales, culture, wildlife, nature, and people. Apart from India, visitors to the exhibition will see images from Antarctica, Australia, Burma, California, China, Norway, Thailand and more. Visitors will be able to purchase the framed photographs, which are printed on special archival paper – quality that lasts for more than 40 years.

This year, the exhibition will also feature a special wall for photographs taken by persons with multiple sclerosis (MS) and their family members, giving them an opportunity to share their view of the world with us. Multiple Sclerosis is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. It's a neurological disease and a cure is yet to be found. A person with MS is faced with several attacks and slow deterioration of functions. MSSI helps them through physiotherapy sessions, scans and medicines, among other things.
