Carnatic Vocal Concert by Uttara Swaminathan and Party presented by MA Narasimhachar Music Foundation

on 23 June at 545 PM at BP Wadia Hall at the Indian Institute of World Culture, BP Wadia Road, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru.

About the artists:
 
Uttara Swaminathan has been a Carnatic vocal student of Veena Vid. Dr Jayanthi Kumaresh since 2002. She gave her
maiden concert in 2013, at B.T.M Cultural Academy. Since then, she has performed in prestigious sabhas in Bangalore,
Chennai, Mumbai, Coimbatore and other cities. She was invited to perform at the Swathi Sangeethotsavam, 2016 conducted at
Kuthiramalika Palace, Thiruvananthapuram. She had the privilege of performing along with celebrated musicians like Vidushi
Dr Jayanthi Kumaresh and Vidwan Abhishek Raghuram as part of the Indian National Orchestra. She was recently chosen as
one of the IndianRaga fellows of 2017. She has also won prizes at numerous competitions including those held by Music
Academy -Chennai, Nadasurabhi -Bengaluru and Bangalore Gayana Samaj.
 
Vaibhav Ramani, an upcoming violinist from Bengaluru, is a student of Vid. Sri Kumaresh. He has been performing as a solo
violinist and accompanist in the major cities of South India including Bangalore, Mysore, Puttur, Udupi, Chennai, Trichy,
Coimbatore and others. He has also had the opportunity to perform abroad in Uganda and Canada. He was the youngest
member of the Indian National Orchestra led by Dr Jayanthi Kumaresh comprising many distinguished artists from the
Hindustani and Carnatic streams and has performed with them as part of the Hindu November festival in Coimbatore and at the
Music Academy, Chennai. He is the recipient of several awards and prizes, including the First Prize in the national level
Sangeet Samraat competition, in 2016 and the best violinist prize in the Mudhra concert competition in July 2017.
 
Kaushik Sridhar has been passionate about playing the Mridangam since his early years and has acquired systematic training
on the instrument since the age of 6. He started his training in 2008 from Sri Vinay Nagarajan (disciple of Sri
S.V.BALAKRISHNA, Bangalore) who provided the basic foundation in all the major Thaalaas of south Indian Carnatic music. In
2014, he started advance lessons under the tutelage of Sri Trichur R Mohan (Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy awardee)
and father of the popular Carnatic duo Trichur Brothers. His most recent accomplishment has been to win the Sri Lakshmi
Narayana memorial award from Dr L Subramaniams academy of performing arts (SaPa Bangalore).
