For centuries, the Kodavas braved the heavy rains from June to September, paths disappeared, jungles grew lush and uncontrollable; food becomes scarce and women and men take to the jungle for food! Wandering the forests in search of bamboo shoots, mushrooms, crabs, wild ferns, colocasia leaves and medicinal plant like madde thopp(a purple black medicinal food), which if made the right way, is alleged to have about 18 types of herbal medicinal properties. Coffee and spices, creating house wine, walking through the jungle; come join me in an exploration into an untouched life and history of the Kodava culture.

The event consists of teaching one to adorn the Kodava (coorg) dress from Kodava/Coorg style sari to kupya(men's traditional attire in Coorg) to foraging into the coorg jungles for medicinal plants; searching for secretive ingredients to prepare monsoon delicacies that you will create and taste post which, we can taste some traditional Coorg wine while meeting new friends on this expedition.

I, Megha Deokule spent my adolescent summers in Coorg at my grand mother's house and would like to invite you to experience Coorg the way I did during her monsoons. I ensure you a gastronomical experience and a spread of authentic cuisine that you have never experienced even if you have travelled to Coorg before. In a 2N/3D event that will be held at my homestay - MITRA HOMESTAY, in the valley close to Madikeri. It is a coffee estate where I can give you a short tour on coffee and spices as well.

The meals served will comprise of farmer's breakfast farm to plate; (akki otti with bamboo shoot curry or sesame chutney), authentic Coorg food (kadambuttu with pandi curry) and foraged food.

I personally look forward to seeing you and taking you through an experience that is a different and hopefully add value to your monsoon experiences.
