Theatre classes for kids, as well as adults, are coming up soon at The Circular Square and we invite you to join the open house for a meeting with the artists from XpressionZ theatre group, who would be facilitating the classes.

This open house involves

a) orientation for theatre art form learning

b) undergoing a simple "Theatre interest & adaptability test (applicants for the Advanced course will undergo an audition)

c) clarification of your queries

The classes will be segregated as

1. Foundation course: Giving overview of different aspects of theatre, body movements, introduction to Indian mythology, concentration and confidence building, ways to establish emotional and physical connect with the stage and related diversities, involvement as a person with justifiable living and non living things in and around the diameter of stage, various methods and approaches of storytelling. This course is applicable only for kids aged 6-13 years

2. Basic course: Building healthy and responsive mind, body coordination with mind, response to stimuli, physical fitness, yoga and music in context of theatre, Acting and drama games, improvisation, working with text, voice exercises, working with an ensemble, building confidence, fundamental acting techniques, monologues, dialogues, introduction to different form of theatre (street, intimate), overview of sets, lighting and music, staging a light production. This course is applicable to 14 years and above. Younger than 14 may apply for this course, admission subject to the result of theatre interest and adaptability test.

3. Advanced course: Character creation, scripts analysis, creating context and subtext, physicality and emotions portrayal of character, character action and motivation, character in conjunction with scene partner, one act, multi-act, clowning, voice throw, use of silence, costume design for characters, acting techniques from around the world ((e.g method acting, Meisner technique etc.), staging a professional production. This course is applicable to 14 years and above. 11-14-year-olds may apply for this course, admission subject to completing the Basic course and result of the audition.
