Woodblock printing on textiles is the process of printing patterns on textiles, usually of linen, cotton or silk, by means of incised wooden blocks. It is the earliest, simplest and slowest of all methods of textile printing.
The day will start at 10.30 am with a short introduction by the trainer and a quick demo, post that you get to craft your own personalized creation by choosing from a variety of designs on wooden blocks, and a range of colours. Guided by artisans, you will be printing on a handmade cotton bag that is made at a Nav Prabhuti. They have a great collection of blocks combining both contemporary, and classic Indian patterns.
This workshop allows you to learn the basic technique of block printing and to develop a fuller appreciation and outlook into a world filled with colour, tradition and old-world techniques.
You are welcome to bring your own T-Shirts, dupattas and our experts will help you design and print on those.
The interaction will be a half-day program, from 10.30 am - 1 .00 pm light refreshments will be provided after the workshop.
