The process of Educational Psychology, Technological advancements and the purpose of learning is an ongoing evolutionary process. The closest discipline that integrates these three disciplines of evolution is Instructional Design. Educationalist and organizations spends millions of dollars on training. However, measuring the effectiveness of a program or course is one of the biggest challenges due to the complexities associated with it. Instructional Design attempts to demystify the science behind learning and to measure its effectiveness.

Most common definition for Instructional design is: Instructional Design is the systematic development of instructional specifications using learning and instructional theory to ensure the quality of instruction. It is the entire process of analysis of learning needs and goals and the development of a delivery system to meet those needs. It includes development of instructional materials and activities; and try out and evaluation of all instruction and learner activities.
